Who We Are

Our Vision

To nurture emotionally intelligent children who can understand, express, and lead with confidence, empathy, and inner strength.

Our Objective

To provide schools with a structured, story-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program that helps students develop emotional awareness, communication skills, and resilience through meaningful classroom experiences.

Our Approach

Petalulette is a narrative-based SEL program designed to guide children through emotional growth using storytelling, creative expression, and reflection.

Each lesson follows a simple structure:
• Story introduction
• Creative activity
• Guided reflection
• Real-life connection

This allows students not only to understand emotions—but to experience and apply them in their daily lives.

The Story Behind Petalulette
The Birth of Petalulette: A Journey of Emotional Courage

In the heart of a perfectly tended garden lived Petalulette, a small rose petal who had everything. Her silk “mansion” was safe and peaceful, yet within her lived a curiosity greater than the garden itself.

One day, Petalulette realized that safety alone was not enough if she never experienced the world. With a gentle gust of wind and great courage, she left the comfort of her rose and began a journey into the unknown. Along the way, she discovered that the world is vast—and at times, difficult. She encountered storms that frightened her, winds that confused her, and challenges she had never imagined within her sheltered home.

It was there that Petalulette discovered her true mission: to learn how to express what we feel without fear. She understood that facing the world is not about avoiding challenges, but about meeting them with honesty, integrity, and true courage. She learned that every drop of rain is a lesson in resilience, and every strong root is an example of empathy.

Petalulette LLC was born from that same spark. Our first book tells this awakening, but it is only the beginning. We are a comprehensive SEL Program (Full Curriculum) designed to accompany each child on their journey. Like our brave petal, students leave their “mansion” each day to navigate a complex world; we provide the emotional map and tools they need to grow with confidence and overcome any challenge.

Today, our mission is to transform classrooms across Maryland and throughout the country into spaces of growth—where emotional intelligence becomes the foundation for facing the world with confidence.

Behind the Garden: Our Founders

Petalulette LLC was born from the union of two seemingly different worlds, brought together by one shared vision: to strengthen the heart of the next generation.

Sandra — Co-Founder & Creative Director

Sandra Co founder and Creative Director: A high-end jewelry designer who has worked with some of the most recognized brands worldwide. Her eye for detail and her ability to transform abstract concepts into timeless pieces of beauty are the visual soul of Petalulette.

As an artist who has dedicated her life to her craft, Sandra has cultivated a profound understanding of the abstract dimension of human essence—a subtle and deeply meaningful space where emotions such as love, magic, kindness, and all that is ethereal reside. From this perspective, she recognizes the challenge faced by children with sensitive and creative souls in environments that do not always know how to hold their inner world. Guided by this awareness, she contributes from her experience to create a bridge that allows children to understand, navigate, and embrace the highest essence of humanity.

She believes that emotional learning should be as precious and carefully crafted as a jewel, ensuring that every material in our program inspires wonder and respect in children.

Milagros — Co-Founder & Director of Strategy

Milagros Co-Founder and Director of Strategy: A Nuclear and Electrical Engineer with over 15 years of experience within the Department of Defense, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the U.S. Navy. After years of receiving recognition for technical excellence and teaching university-level mathematics and physics, she discovered a fundamental truth: even the most brilliant students face invisible emotional challenges.

While working with young people affected by bullying and early-life adversity, she chose to apply the rigor of engineering to design a system that equips children with courage and honesty to navigate a complex and often challenging world.

Our Mission in Action

We are committed to transforming classrooms into spaces where emotional intelligence is not taught as a concept—but lived as a daily practice.
